Why Modpacks Need More Than Cheap Vanilla Hosting
Most "Minecraft hosting" deals are designed for 2 to 4 friends on vanilla. Modded Minecraft has different requirements. Here's what every Nova Grid plan is being built to include.
SFTP for Bulk Mod Uploads
A 400-mod pack is ~2 GB of jars and configs. SFTP credentials are included so you can drag the whole `mods/` folder up at once, with no manual file-by-file uploads in a web UI.
DDoS Protection on Every Plan
Modded servers are public targets the moment they're discoverable. Network-layer protection is standard, not a paid add-on.
Daily Backups Pre-Configured
A rogue mod update or a bad chunk-corruption can wipe a server world. Every server will ship with a daily backup already scheduled, so a corrupted save isn't a crisis.
Real Control Panel, Not a Glorified Console

Modpack Hosting FAQ
How soon can I get my server?
It's live now. After checkout we build your server by hand and email your control panel login, usually within a few hours. You pick the modpack: we can install it for you, or you can upload it yourself over SFTP.
How does billing work?
Plans are month to month and billed through our secure checkout (card via Stripe). No long contract. You can cancel or switch tiers anytime from your billing dashboard.
Which modpacks can I install?
Anything that runs on Forge, Fabric, Paper, or Spigot: CurseForge launcher manifests, FTB App exports, and custom mods/ folders, uploaded via SFTP or the web file manager. Rule of thumb: if a modpack runs on your PC, it'll run on our server.
How much RAM does ATM10 / Vault Hunters / Better Minecraft actually need?
For 1 to 2 players, 4 GB is the bare minimum. For 4 to 8 players or any late-game content, 6 GB is realistic, which is why we point modpack players at the Diamond tier. Lighter packs like RLCraft, SkyFactory 4, and Pixelmon are happy on Iron's 3 GB.
Do I install mods myself, or does support do it?
Both. The web panel has a file manager and one-click restart, so most players can upload their mods/ folder via SFTP and go. Prefer not to? Send us the modpack name and version and our team will get it installed for you.
Will you support Bedrock Edition?
Not yet. Bedrock and Java are different server stacks. Java Edition (Vanilla, Paper, Forge, Fabric, Spigot) is what we run today. Bedrock is on the roadmap.
What happens when a mod update breaks the world?
Every plan includes a daily cloud backup, and you can trigger a manual snapshot from the control panel before any major mod update. Restores are one-click.
